NO GOING BACK ON STAFF’S CAPACITY BUILDING, SAYS MD

The Managing Director of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Dr. Adeniyi Saheed Aremu has described staff training and development as an essential condition to get the best of service. Dr. Aremu, made this known while declaring open a two day Procurement Training Programme open at the Authority’s Headquarters. The training, was jointly organized by the Authority and the Bureau of Public Procurement to sensitise members of staff of the Authority about the need to strictly adhere to the Public Procurement Act of 2007 as the standard for which procurement activities and the contract awarding exercise in the public sector should be made. Dr. Aremu informed that the Management of the Authority had put in place necessary arrangements to ensure that staff training and development is taken seriously. This effort, according to him, is to build on the intellectual capacity of the staff so as to get the maximum returns from them in terms of service delivery. Dr. Aremu assured that his administration would reposition the authority through capacity development, and urged members of staff to key into this initiative.
