The Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority has started the implimentation of the Songhai integrated model scheme with installation of a Green house and procurement of a Tractor for land preparation with additional Project Vehicle (Bus) for transportation to and fro the Songhai Model farm centre.

The Authority had also procured a 500 Ha land for the implementation of the Songhai scheme at Malete, Kwara state.

The Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu, had earlier approved the implementation of the Songhai integrated model scheme in all River Basin Development Authorities in the year 2017 prompting all Managing Directors and the Executive Directors (Agric Services) of the RBDA to make a mandatory visit to Songhai Farms in Porto-Novo, Benin Republic between 7 – 9th July 2017 so as to fast-track the implementation of the scheme in their various River Basin Development Authorities.
