Engr. Adamu made the declaration when he paid a visit to Tada-Shonga Irrigation project of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority where massive rice farming was ongoing.
The Minister, who was delighted with the project, expressed satisfaction with the rice farming activities on ground covering about 82HA of irrigable farmland out of the 3200HA total land acquired by the Authority.

He pledged his determination to provide all necessary assistance by way of construction of Dyke, provision of irrigation structure and expansion of prepared farmland to facilitate all year farming of rice and other vegetables in the area.
Tada-Shonga irrigation project is one of the massive irrigation projects of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority located along the fertile plains of the River Niger between the villages of Tada-Shonga in Edu LGA of Kwara State.
Similar strides are being replicated in Ejiba Area Office of the Authority where Kogi State Government, private organizations and individual farmers are partnering with the Authority to boost rice production in the country with about 27,000 tons of paddy rice and 1,200 tons (i.e. 24,000 bags of 50kg bags of rice) of rice milled so far.
