In line with the Federal Government’s effort to improve Nigerians standard of living and provide jobs for the unemployed youth, the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority has embarked on a special programme tagged Graduate Youth Empowerment Scheme. The scheme was designed to generate employment and to ensure food sufficiency in the country.

The Managing Director of the Authority, Dr. Adeniyi Saheed Aremu, assured that the scheme will be a continuous process that would engage a carefully selected youth across Kwara and Kogi states in batches.

The beneficiaries will be trained in animal husbandry, crop farming, vegetable farming and other sustainable agricultural activities.

They will subsequently be empowered to establish any agricultural venture of their choice, thereby assisting them to be self-reliant and self-employed.
